Ordsall is an area of Salford situated just south of Manchester City Centre, to the south of the A57 road and close to the River Irwell.
Since the early 2000’s, The area has undergone a large scale regeneration project, including the construction of more than 1,000 new homes- many of which are aimed at first-time buyers and local people, greatly modernising the local housing stock and improving the look and desirability of the area. In addition, multiple new apartment blocks have sprung up on the outskirts of Ordsall in order to meet the increasing demand for properties in Salford.
The area borders on to Manchester city centre and is within easy walking distance of MediaCityUK, the home of the BBC, ITV and a vast number of digital media agencies. This enviable location has led to Ordsall rapidly growing in popularity as a place to live for people who have moved to the area for employment.
Ordsall is community focused neighbourhood, with many local residents taking great pride in where they live and getting involved in many community events and initiatives, including the extremely popular Ordsall Community Allotment Society. A building of stunning beauty, Ordsall Hall is a Grade I listed Tudor building and is currently a popular museum.
Another notable landmark in the Ordsall area is the iconic Salford Lads Club, made famous by Manchester band The Smiths and seen in multiple music videos and films. As well as being a mecca for music fans from across the globe, the club is still open today and hosts many activities for local youngsters such football, basketball and boxing as well as community meetings and intimate concerts.
