DescriptionA row of five derelict shops in Prestwich, some of which have stood unused for twenty years, have been transformed into new, affordable homes. The former commercial properties, situated on Chapel Road in Rainsough Brow were previously branded an eyesore, but have been completely renovated and brought back into use as row of eye-catching 2 bedroom apartments. The project was part of Salix Living’s ongoing commitment to creating new homes for those in need, by bringing disused buildings back into use across the region. The regeneration project received £240,000 from the Homes England Empty Homes Funding programme, and has given a new lease of life to the abandoned buildings | Media Coverage"Eyesore shops stood empty for 20 years transformed into affordable homes" 24 Housing, 12/06/18 "Derelict shops transformed into affordable homes" Refurb, 15/06/18 "Case study: Converting empty shops to homes" Place Making Resource, 11/07/18 |
