Salford Housing Options Point (SHOP)  has listened to what private landlords and estate agents want from a support service and have created the new and improved PRIVATE ASSIST.

This scheme has been designed with the tenants and landlords needs in mind and will offer relevant support in order to create achievable and sustainable tenancies.

Don’t lose money on empty properties!  Thousands of applicants in housing need approach our service looking to secure accommodation - 47% of which are in full or part time employment.

What’s in it for you? 

With every successful tenancy sign up completed through our service, you will receive a deposit certificate to the value of the first months rent. This completely replaces the traditional cash deposit scheme. If you do not claim on the deposit for rent arrears of damage within the first 12 months, we’ll give you the money as a landlord incentive, no pay back required!

We will also:

  • Work with you to solve rent and housing benefit issues. We have a dedicated Housing Advisor who has established excellent contacts within the councils Housing Benefit department. We also have links with The Department for Works and Pensions (universal credit) and Welfare Rights and Debt Advice (WRDA)
  • Provide support with landlord and tenant disputes. Our team of experienced Housing Advisors will provide effective mediation resulting in issues being resolved quickly and effectively
  • Issue every new tenant with a bespoke tenancy sign up pack, giving specific guidance on what they need to do to manage their tenancy
  • Provide you with a dedicated Housing Advisor as a named contact to offer support, help and guidance on all tenancy related issued such as rent payments, benefits, repairs and legal requirements
