We are delighted to announce that Salix Living has taken on 65 additional properties over the last financial year, and in doing so, has provided much-needed accommodation for close to 100 Salford residents.
Since launching in 2012, our portfolio has grown to more than 200 properties, with an additional 50 already confirmed to be coming before the end of 2018.
Salix Living offers property owners 3 levels of service, ranging from simply finding a tenant for their property to a full lease agreement for a period of three-to-five years. This lease gives landlords security of income by providing a guaranteed monthly rental income for the duration of the lease, whether the property is inhabited or not, in addition to a full property management service.
As part of the scheme, we are working alongside Salford Council to identify the owners of empty properties and help them to bring their properties back into use and onto the private rental market.
As an extra incentive to private landlords, Salford Council offer funding through the Homes and Communities Agency so necessary improvement works to the empty properties can be carried out. Once the work is completed. Salix Living manage the rental of the building on behalf of the property owner. In addition, the Private Assist support service provided by Salford Council provides landlords with security through access to a bond guarantee scheme, incentives, rent direct and tailored advice and support.
